Name: Catelyn Allen (That's her on the left in the photo!)

1st Day at Avalon: 04/01/2024

Current Position: Client Services Team Lead

Tell us “your story.” How did you end up at Avalon?

After working at a hospital for five years, I was ready to get into a new challenge. I took some time off and when I was ready to come back to work Avalon was the one to give me an opportunity.

What’s your favorite thing about Avalon?

The people! Some of the best people I have ever met work here. The culture is welcoming, and I know I’ve made some lifelong friends in my time here.

What’s your favorite thing about your position at Avalon?

The client interaction! Chatting up some of the regulars is my favorite. It’s very fun to see what’s going on around Buffalo and what our clients are working on as well as hearing their stories.

What is your proudest moment at Avalon?

Receiving the “Jason of All Trades” award at the Great Huddle for Buffalo.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

A little bit of everything. Helping clients who email, call, or walk in. Working on invoicing or entering jobs. Organizing the shelves and orders in the office. Or planning anything fun going on around the office!

What’s your favorite workplace memory?

The day the ladies of the office got a large application out! We had a lot of vacations going on at the time and Sandy, Alice, and I powered together and completed a large project on our own without issue that was out of our comfort zone. It was teamwork at its finest!

What are you listening to right now (music/podcast/audio book)?

Hunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton (audiobook)

What’s a must-read blog or book that you’ve read recently and why?

The Book of Azriel – This series is everything! Strong female lead, enemies to lover’s trope, and the genre is fantasy. All my favorite things in one book.

What’s your favorite motivational quote?

Be Good, Do Good, God Bless & Go Bills!

If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would it be and why?

Rome/Greece. I’ve always wanted to go there for the history.

If you were stuck on an island and could only bring three things, what would they be?

My Kindle, a charger, and snacks!

What do you do for fun?

I like to find fun things to do around the city with my daughter. If she’s having a great time, then so am I.
