Raising the Bar in eDiscovery: Celebrating Our Relativity Masters

Josh Burke and Jason Haag Relativity Masters

At Avalon, we’re dedicated to delivering exceptional eDiscovery expertise and world-class customer service every day. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our recognition as a Relativity Silver Partner, earned in 2022, and in the achievements of two core team members who attained the prestigious Relativity Master certification in 2024.

The Relativity Master designation represents the highest level of certification offered by Relativity and requires years of hands-on experience. eDiscovery professionals must first earn the Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) credential. Then, they must secure at least four advanced Relativity certifications, covering core areas of the Relativity ecosystem: processing, analytics, project management, review management, and data management.

Elite Recognition, Real-World Impact

Less than 20 percent of Relativity users worldwide reach this level, making it a rare and impressive accomplishment that reflects years of dedication, learning, and real-world problem-solving. Avalon is incredibly proud that Josh Burke, Director of Legal Tech Operations, and Jason Haag, Operations Support Specialist, each earned this prestigious title and continue to learn about the latest technological advancements from Relativity, including their AI-powered aiR products.

Jason and Josh’s advanced knowledge allows us to:

  • Build more efficient workflows for data processing and review
  • Apply analytics and automation tools to control costs and improve accuracy
  • Deliver strategic insights that help clients make faster, smarter case decisions

When complex matters arise, our clients know they’re supported by a team of experts who bring advanced eDiscovery – and Relativity – knowledge to every engagement.

Our Expertise. Your Advantage.

Avalon’s investment in top-tier Relativity training isn’t just about certification; it’s about delivering measurable value. With two Relativity Masters on our team, we can optimize every aspect of the discovery process, from early case assessment (ECA) through production, helping our clients gain strategic insight sooner and controlling costs throughout the matter. It’s just another way we continue to level the playing field for midsize firms, offering the kind of technical depth and efficiency often associated with much larger providers – but without the overhead.

eDiscovery Excellence That Drives Results

Jason and Josh’s achievements embody Avalon’s commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and client success. Their expertise strengthens our position as a trusted partner for law firms and corporations tackling today’s toughest eDiscovery challenges.

Congratulations, Jason and Josh, and thank you for helping keep Avalon at the forefront of eDiscovery excellence.

The Next Generation of AI in Law*

The legal industry is steadily moving beyond early experimentation with generative AI and into a more complex phase defined by agentic systems. These systems do not simply generate text or assist with discrete tasks. They are designed to take action, to carry out multi-step processes, and to operate with a level of autonomy that begins to resemble participation rather than assistance.
