Tell us “your story.” How did you end up at Avalon?
I began my career in Army intelligence, where I spent over a decade supporting complex, mission-critical operations. After that, I worked at the National Ground Intelligence Center, where I dove further into digital forensics as part of investigative and analytical work. That exposure sparked my interest in the technical and evidentiary side of data, how information is collected, preserved, and analyzed in high-stakes environments.
From there, transitioning into eDiscovery felt like a natural progression. It allowed me to apply my intelligence and forensic background to the legal and investigative space, where accuracy, defensibility, and attention to detail are just as critical. My path to Avalon was driven by a desire to work in an environment that values rigor, collaboration, and thoughtful problem-solving, and where my background can add meaningful value to clients and teams.
What’s your favorite thing about Avalon?
What I enjoy most about Avalon is the people. I really value working with smart, collaborative teammates who care about doing the work the right way. On the forensics side, I especially enjoy partnering closely with clients, helping them navigate complex issues, explaining the technical details in a clear way, and knowing that the work we’re doing has real impact. That combination of strong relationships, trust, and meaningful problem-solving is what makes Avalon stand out to me.
What’s your favorite thing about your position at Avalon?
My favorite thing about my position at Avalon is the opportunity to work closely with clients on the forensics side. I enjoy collaborating with them to break down complex technical issues, build trusted relationships, and deliver clear, defensible work that helps improve case outcomes.
What is your proudest moment at Avalon?
My proudest moments at Avalon are when our work directly helps clients navigate difficult situations and achieve strong case outcomes. Knowing that our forensic support made a real difference is always rewarding.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
A typical workday includes client calls, forensic meetings, and supporting new eDiscovery matters. I spend a lot of time collaborating with attorneys and internal teams to understand case needs, address technical issues, and keep matters moving forward. The work is fast-paced and varied, and no two days look exactly the same.
What’s your favorite workplace memory?
One of my favorite workplace memories is participating in client golf tournaments and events, where I’ve been able to build relationships in a more informal setting. I’ve also really enjoyed opportunities to advocate for the firm and connect with the Young Lawyers Division, building relationships that continue beyond individual matters.
What are you listening to right now (music/podcast/audio book)?
I really enjoy listening to podcasts like Think Fast, Talk Smart by one of my favorite professors from Stanford GSB, as well as Diary of a CEO. I pick up practical insights from both and try to incorporate them into my daily habits. I make a point of engaging with business books and podcasts regularly, as it helps me continue learning and applying new ideas in my work.
What’s a must-read blog or book that you’ve read recently and why?
A book I’ve found particularly impactful recently is Atomic Habits by James Clear. I really appreciate how it breaks down the power of small, consistent changes and the compounding effect they can have over time. I’ve been applying many of the ideas from the book in my daily habits. Whether it’s improving productivity, building better routines, or approaching challenges more deliberately. It’s been a great reminder that incremental improvements, done consistently, can lead to meaningful results both personally and professionally.
What’s your favorite motivational quote?
My favorite motivational quote is from “The Man in the Arena,” a speech by Theodore Roosevelt. It reminds me that it’s not the critic who counts, but the person taking action, embracing challenges, and giving their all. It inspires me to focus on effort and engagement rather than standing on the sidelines, and to measure success by persistence, learning, and the courage to keep striving, even when outcomes are uncertain.
If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would it be and why?
That’s such a hard question. Honestly, with five children, I don’t think about vacations all that often! If I had the chance, Italy, France, and Greece would be at the top of my list. I’ve been to Italy before, though it’s been many years, and I’d love to go back to explore more of the culture, history, and cuisine. France and Greece are also places I’d love to experience for their history and beautiful landscapes.
If you were stuck on an island and could only bring three things, what would they be?
I’d choose a satellite phone to stay connected and get help if needed, a durable multitool to handle any practical challenges, and a journal. The journal would let me reflect, stay organized, and keep my mind active, even in a tough situation. I like the idea of combining practicality with a way to stay mentally sharp.
What do you do for fun?
I love spending time with my husband and our five children. We enjoy exploring the outdoors, especially the lake, or just relaxing together. Cooking is another big passion for our family; I was the runner-up on MasterChef with Gordon Ramsay, so we cook a lot at home, and my kids love helping me in the kitchen. I really value combining family time, adventure, and shared experiences like cooking and outdoor activities.
