Every once in a while, we like to show off one of our hard-working, detail-oriented problem solvers. Take a moment to see who's in the spotlight today!

Name: Allie Coyne

1st Day at Avalon: 1/3/23

Current Position: 1st Shift Team Leader

Tell us “your story.” How did you end up at Avalon?

I was in search of a place where I could stay long term and advance in the company, and I’ve found that here at Avalon.

What’s your favorite thing about Avalon?

The best thing I have taken from Avalon is the friendships I have made, as well as helping those around me succeed.

What’s your favorite thing about your position at Avalon?

My favorite thing about my position at Avalon would be taking pride in the work I do, knowing that it does have a positive impact & is appreciated.

What is your proudest moment at Avalon?

My proudest moment at Avalon would be when I became a Team Lead. I hope to continue to advance my career, so I can have even more proud moments.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

Come in, catch up, so I know what the day ahead holds. Begin working on medical records whether it be on paper or CD. About halfway through the day, I put on my CSR hat and spend the rest of my day working on emails.

What’s your favorite workplace memory?

I always enjoy the Great Huddles and seeing my coworkers get chosen for awards and shown the recognition they deserve!

What are you listening to right now (music/podcast/audio book)?

Generally, I’ve been listening to Dark History, which is a podcast on Spotify. Musically I am all over the board!

What’s a must-read blog or book that you’ve read recently and why?

I recently reread Diana: Her True Story- In Her Own Words. Just a wonderful book that opens your eyes to the life of Princess Diana. I tend to enjoy historical and biographical books. Granted this one is more autobiographical, which makes it even better!

What’s your favorite motivational quote?

“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” (A modernized version of a line from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.)

If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would it be and why?

There are two places that I would like to go for a vacation:

  1. Drive up route 1 in California!
  2. Take a cruise to Alaska to see the northern lights!

If you were stuck on an island and could only bring three things, what would they be?

Assuming this is not a deserted island, and I’d have food and water:

  1. My dogs Teddy Bear & Grizzly Bear (They count as one; they're a package deal.)
  2. A hammock.
  3. Something for shade.

If this is a deserted island:

  1. Lots of water.
  2. Nonperishable food.
  3. Lighter.

What do you do for fun?

  1. Craft (crochet, cross stitch, build miniatures, Legos)
  2. Dabble in gardening.
  3. Spend time with my husband and dogs.
  4. Love going on road trips, exploring cute historic towns.
